In all of the times that we had walked up and down Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach, The Office had always eluded us. We had chosen other spots to dine and had meals that were both mediocre and wonderful. Once we had the opportunity to try The Office’s cuisine we felt as though we robbed ourselves of many months of gastronomic bliss. Our loss is now our readers’ gain.
Public House a new bar and restaurant has just opened this last weekend in Fort Lauderdale. This spot on SW 2nd Street looks to be a great spot to sit down and enjoy a few drinks (over 100 beers), a meal and the latest games on their array of televisions over the bar area (30 of them, waiting to be watched). Each night they have specials and events, so it’s worth checking out their website before you go.
Vic & Angelo’s in Delray Beach is one of two locations in the South Florida area. With another location in Palm Beach Gardens, we found their Sunday Brunch (which we enjoyed al fresco) to be a wonderful start to our least favorite day of the weekend.
Reported: Franchise rights to all of Florida for Bareburger restaurants acquired. But by whom and when / where will they open?
We’ve been big fans of Bareburger restaurants in the NYC area for quite a few years. We go our first taste of this organic and all-natural burger haven at one of their locations on the Upper East Side and most recently on Long Island at their new Great Neck location. A well placed source alerted us that all of the Franchise rights have been sold for the State of Florida to one entity, but we don’t have any more detail than that. We’ll keep our eyes and ears open wide for this burger hotspot and will alert our readers of what we can muster up as soon as it comes through the wire.
It was a sunny Wednesday afternoon when we visited Rocco’s Tacos, located in Town Center Circle’s shopping center, not far from Glades Road. Arriving at lunchtime, we had a choice to sit inside in the dark dining room or enjoy the sunshine at one of the outdoor high tables. We chose the latter and had a wonderful Mexican meal under bright blue skies.
Happy Hour is a wonderful thing. For some, it’s a perfect time to get together with friends and/or co-workers after work to wind down. For others, it’s a time to relax and prepare for the night ahead. For us, it’s a great opportunity to score 1/2 off of drinks and appetizers at some of the area’s best restaurants. With this in mind, we headed straight to Mario’s Osteria in Boca Raton.
Tap42 had us pleasantly surprised. It’s known for its great nightlife (especially on Wednesday night, Ladies Night), but seeing and tasting their great cuisine had us confounded. How could a craft beer bar deliver such great food, too? The answer, lies with the executive chef, Andrew Balick.
Of the four South Florida locations of Lemongrass Asian Bistro, this Delray Beach spot may be our favorite. Capturing the energy and the vibe of Atlantic Avenue, sitting outside is a completely different experience than dining inside or at the sushi bar. Under a covered awning, we’ll always choose to sit outside and dine al fresco.
The Grind Cafe, located at the Delray Marketplace on Atlantic Avenue, is set to expand its daily offerings with a new, full service breakfast menu, beginning on October 15th.
