Samara Supermarket, a (somewhat hidden) treasure trove of Middle Eastern ingredients and various other wares has recently received their permit to build a bakery section within their store, located on N. Congress Avenue in Boynton Beach. Up until this point, the year-old store has been sticking to pre-packaged goods but with permission to open things up, we should expect a wonderful selection of freshly baked goods to go.
Zinburger East is currently building out their new location at the Boca Town Center Mall, on Glades Road in Boca Raton. If you’re not familiar with Zinburger East’s brand, they’re primarily based in the northern part of the country with locations in New Jersey, Long Island, Virginia and North Carolina.
TooJay’s Gourmet Deli’s seem to be everywhere in South Florida. Within a 30-minute radius there are 10+ to choose from, so no matter what county you live in, you’ll never be far away. Started back in 1981 in Palm Beach, TooJay’s takes the “Jay” from both of the co-founders’ names (Jay Katzenberg and Jay Brown). The TooJay’s that we recently visited is located in the Polo Club Shoppes in Boca Raton just near the ritzy Polo Club residences.
Food News: TAP Global Beer Collection Set to Open on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Delray Marketplace in Delray Beach
We’re watching Delray Marketplace in Delray Beach expand almost every month with new and interesting food and drink establishments. This time around, beer is getting its shot at the spotlight with the official opening of TAP Global Beer Collection, located just a stone’s throw away from the IMAX cinema. Although their official launch is this coming Saturday, we were let inside for an exclusive photo tour of the bar / restaurant and its huge selection of on-tap and bottled brew.
If you told us that Jupiter Donut Factory in Jupiter has only been around for about two years, we’d think that you were pulling our leg. Regarded highly by most South Floridians (we were literally pointed there by a few of them), they’re known for their long lines, super fresh donuts and the fact that they only stay open until they run out of product. Florida, you’d better wake up early if you’re planning on enjoying some finely baked goods.
Mussel Beach in Delray Beach is, to us, an exciting new adventure. Some of our favorite meals over the years have been at various French and Belgian restaurants that specialized in pots of mussels. We no longer have to travel long and far because as of December, 2013, Mussel Beach is open for business.
Fresh seafood, a wonderful atmosphere and an even better happy hour bar menu collide at City Fish Market in Boca Raton. For years we’ve been hitting up this spot, attached to the Hilton Boca Raton Suites, on Glades Road, and recently returned to take pictures of the restaurant and some of their delicious seafood dishes.
Funky Buddha Brewery in Broward County’s Oakland Park neighborhood is sort of the new kid on the block. Opening up to rave reviews back in June of 2013 (though the partners have been brewing themselves as Funky Buddha since 2010), this beer hall serves what they brew (and slightly more) while remaining a class-act and fun place for the entire family.
Delray Marketplace in Delray Beach is a new-ish outdoor center with a bevy of shopping and dining options serving residents of Delray Beach and those in nearby Boca Raton and Boynton Beach. Restaurants are currently open (see our past mentions of Burt & Max’s and The Grind Cafe) and also still in the build-out phase as of this time. We can expect a few more to open their doors as the season moves on. One of the popular spots that you will find, right now, is Shula Burger, Don Shula’s fast-casual entry in the hottest segment in the country right now; burgers and fries.
