When we think of the perfect dessert place to take family and friends that visit us from up north, Sloan’s at City Place (or their other locations throughout the area) always comes to mind. Their whimsical decor, ice cream flavors (get the kitchen sink if your group is big enough), candy and gifts selection always seem to appeal to someone in the group. Plus, take a trip to the back of the store and you’ll be treated to one of most famous rooms in the entire country; their bathroom that goes from transparent to opaque with the flick of a switch.
If you can wait until April, 2015, then you’ll be swimming in baked goods if you frequent the Royal Palm Beach area. Jupiter Donut Factory, the wildly successful (and yummy) donut shop that is now located only in Jupiter is hoping to throw open their new doors in just a few months’ time to expand their brand southward.
Two Kickstarter projects based in the Miami area are catching our eye this week and while one is almost half way to funding, the other has exceeded its initial goal and will be pumping out their product to their new-found pack of backers.
Seasons 52 has always been known for their mini desserts, served up in a shot glass and baked to perfection. They’re announcing today a series of new mini indulgence flavors that are both seasonal and permanent to their menu.
Bobby’s Burger Palace, Iron Chef and The Food Network’s biggest personality Bobby Flay’s fast-casual burger joint, is opening its first Florida location today in Dadeland Mall in Miami.
In all of the times that we had walked up and down Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach, The Office had always eluded us. We had chosen other spots to dine and had meals that were both mediocre and wonderful. Once we had the opportunity to try The Office’s cuisine we felt as though we robbed ourselves of many months of gastronomic bliss. Our loss is now our readers’ gain.
Self-serve yogurt spots are a dime-a-dozen in South Florida. There are many franchised brands as well as stand-alones and we can think of a dozen locations within a few mile radius. We were intrigued when walking past Eco Yogurt Lounge in Boca Raton because, unlike most yogurt spots, this location was super-trendy and modern on the inside. Our only regret was that our visit was at opening, in the daytime. As a result we weren’t able to extract the sheer beauty of the wall’s changing colors that are experienced at nighttime.
