When we think of the perfect dessert place to take family and friends that visit us from up north, Sloan’s at City Place (or their other locations throughout the area) always comes to mind. Their whimsical decor, ice cream flavors (get the kitchen sink if your group is big enough), candy and gifts selection always seem to appeal to someone in the group. Plus, take a trip to the back of the store and you’ll be treated to one of most famous rooms in the entire country; their bathroom that goes from transparent to opaque with the flick of a switch.
Suri Tapas Bar is one of the new kids on the block in Lake Worth, on Lake Avenue. At the time of this writing, they’ve been open for roughly 8 weeks and have just been receiving some recent favorable press in various well respected print papers. It was a coincidence that a friend turned us onto the restaurant a few days before their latest review appeared, and with little information, we hit Open Table and made our reservation for four.
Sometimes you need to just get away and refuel; whether it’s for one night or for a full week, we think that we stumbled on the perfect spot. Looking to get away and with the grandparents watching the kids for a night, we took advantage of Casa Grandview‘s Procrastinator promotion, which allowed us to save 20% on our room by booking the same day of travel.
We stopped by Copper Blues, the newest bar and restaurant to be opening at City Place in West Palm Beach. They’ll be quietly holding a soft-open tomorrow night (Wednesday, May 7th) and plan on their hard open for this weekend to meet the demands of the large crowds. We stopped by during their last day of construction to see how things were shaping up. We weren’t left disappointed.
Terra Fiamma at the Delray Marketplace in Delray Beach is one of the few restaurants at that shopping center that exceeded our expectations. We’ve had experiences that have left us wanting more at the other “hot spots” but Tierra Fiamma was chosen as a lunch spot and with our dining experience, we can’t wait to go back for a full-fledged dinner.
Sand Bar, located on S. Ocean Blvd. in Delray Beach is an aptly named night spot that has a relaxed, college-like vibe, great nightly drink specials and a sensibly priced menu to top it off. Part of the Boston’s on the Beach group of restaurants in Delray, when the weather is right, this is one of our go-to spots to grab a drink with friends, kick off our shoes and relax.
Food News: TAP Global Beer Collection Set to Open on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Delray Marketplace in Delray Beach
We’re watching Delray Marketplace in Delray Beach expand almost every month with new and interesting food and drink establishments. This time around, beer is getting its shot at the spotlight with the official opening of TAP Global Beer Collection, located just a stone’s throw away from the IMAX cinema. Although their official launch is this coming Saturday, we were let inside for an exclusive photo tour of the bar / restaurant and its huge selection of on-tap and bottled brew.
Mussel Beach in Delray Beach is, to us, an exciting new adventure. Some of our favorite meals over the years have been at various French and Belgian restaurants that specialized in pots of mussels. We no longer have to travel long and far because as of December, 2013, Mussel Beach is open for business.
