Sunday Brunch in South Florida: Deck 84 in Delray Beach
Waterfront on the intracoastal and with a huge deck area overlooking the span, this is one of the best spots to take in a Sunday brunch. The prices are reasonable, the vibe is casual and on Sundays there is one added benefit that we have yet to encounter before; a do-it-yourself Bloody Mary Bar. With about 30 ingredients to stack onto your Bloody Mary, diners can have it as funky, spicy or as mild as desired (premium vodkas available for a slight increase in price).
The menu boasts both lunchtime specialties and brunch favorites. Our table was divided, although leaning heavily towards lunch fare. The two brunch holdouts ordered Eggs Benedict and the Breakfast Burrito while many of the others enjoyed light salads with either grilled chicken or grilled salmon on top. Not pictured was the Deck Burger, similar to Bull Burgers, with cheese, bacon, fried egg and onion covering a juicy hamburger. That was excellent and satisfied both our brunch and lunch needs.
This bar / restaurant was also the perfect place to watch Sunday football. The many tv’s lining both the outdoor bar and the indoor bar were each broadcasting a different game, so no matter who your favorite team is, chances are you’ll be able to catch them in action.
We’ll certainly head back to this Delray Beach favorite (Also a sister-restaurant to Burt & Max’s in the Delray Marketplace, among others). This is one hot spot that can be just as fun on a Sunday morning as it is on a Friday night.
